Moğollar The Turkish rock band Moğollar was founded by five young musicians in 1967. They produced their first 45’s record “Eastern Love/Artık Çok Geç” the following year. In the same year they won the third place in the Golden Microphone Contest and became known in a short time and began to give concerts across Anatolia. The reactions they take during the concerts had been effective on their giving weight to Anatolian style in rock music. In 1970 the group went to Paris to sign a three year contract with the CBS music company and released “Behind the Darh/Hitching.” With this record they won the "Academie Charles Cros" prize in 1971. In the meantime they meet Barış Manço who was living in Belgium in the time and began to play with him giving their new group the name “ManchoMongol.” After departing from Manço the gorup played with Cem Karaca for a long time.
