Ergin Özler

Ergin Özler
He is a jazz drummer rarely giving concerts, therefore we rarely find the opportunity to listen him live. In 1998 he released the album “Cold Fever” with Ergin Özler Quintet, which he undertook the production by himself, all the songs belonging to him. His melodies creates an air at times sombre, at times mystic, tense or jolly. The album features a great coherence in itself, which is seen both in passages from one song to another and the solos in between the songs. Saxophonist Ryan Woodward whom we also know from Audio Fact music band work wonders with his soprano saxophone featuring the very emotional coherence and integrity of the album. Ergin Özler plays his drum in a cool and serene tone without emphasizing it too much. The guitar of Steve Grzeskowaik also successfully completes the songs with its classical jazz sound. The piano of Christian Gall and the bass guitar of Chris Luard are no doubt worthy of commendation. In short, “Cold Fever” is an album to be listened with a serene state of mind, appealing to the ones who like the trio style and its cool times in jazz.
