Adnan Önder
Adnan Önder was born in a village of Muğla, Fethiye as the youngest son of a six-children peasant family. After his early youth in his homeland, he made his way to Ankara, METU (Middles East Technical University) to study Economics. In the 1970's as a university student reciting revolutionary poems in demonstrations Adnan Önder went to America to work as the general director of an American company. Self-willingly retired at the age of forty nine he returned to Turkey to make his own way. He expediously released a poetry album called “Hoş Geldin” (Welcome). He set out a voyage with his ship “Karadeniz” from Iskenderun Port through Fethiye across the Aegean Sea. Crossing the Dardanelles he arrived at the Marmara Sea, the last stop being of course Istanbul. Istanbul was a kind of asylum, for 12 September (1980 coup d’etat) was at hand. He lost his life in 2009 in a traffic accident in Fethiye. During his life he was a true lover of every kind of lit.....
