BIOGRAPHY

Akrep Nalan

Akrep Nalan
Born in Ankara in 1954 as the only child of a music lover mother and a tech-savvy father, her real name is Füsun Nalan Açın. After completing her high school education she worked as an accountant in various factories and firms between the years 1972-1980. During these years she got on to the stage for a music drama with reowned names of the time. Getting the taste of the stage, she totally lost her interest in accountancy and began a theatre career, working at the same time as the first barmaid in Ankara. She notes that as a child she learned to speak and sing simultaneously thanks to her mother mostly singing at home and her father keen on advanced music systems. Working as a barmaid, she says, she used to sing behind the bar and had herself a modest audience. Then she began her professional music career with the support of Hakkı Çağdaşın in Goldfinger night club in the year 1980. It followed with Efe Bar in Bodrum where she sang with a single guitar and had reached a larger audience. She subsequently came to Istanbul and took stage in many places both in here and different cities of Turkey. In 1991 she released her first album “Dağ Çiçeği” (Mountain Flower). Then followed the second album “Zil Zurna Sevdalar” (Bladdered Loves) in 1996. Akrep Nalan notes that she had the chance to work with many meritorious musicians during her career.
