Gazanfer Özcan
Gazanfer Özcan The famous and beloved actor Gazanfer Özcan completed his education in Istanbul. During high school years taking roles in plays he met the art of theatre to which he devoted his life. He entered Istanbul City Theatre and acted in children’s plays for a while. In 1955 the play “Mahallenin Romanı” happened to be a turning point in his acting career for he took the place of one of the actors who got sick. After his successful performance here he joined the Komedi Theatre Company. In 1962 he married Gönül Ülkü and the couple founded Gönül Ülkü & Gazanfer Özcan Theatre. In the 1950’s and 1960’s he performed in many films. Breaking cinema for a long while for the theatre Gazanfer Özcan returned to it with the film “Komiser Şekspir” in 2000. Besides these, the took part in numerous TV series and became prominent especially with the role of “warmhearted father” .....
