Melih Kibar (1951-2005) began to study the piano in Istanbul Municipal Conservatory at the age of eight as a part-time student. He completed his university education in Chemistry in Boğaziçi University. Carrying on his music life together with Timur Selçuk for a long time, he composed the song “Çoban Yıldızı” for the Eurovision Finals in 1975. His compositions were performed by famous musicians and became unforgettable. He is best remembered with the musics of the film “Hababam Sınıfı,” a comedy film series jogged the memory of all. He is also famous for the compositions he produced for renowned musicals such as “Hisseli Harikalar Kumpanyası.” He received the Altın Plak (Golden Disk) Award for two times with his 45’s records “Hep Böyle Kal” and “Söyle Canım.” Also he received the award of “the Best Maestro” in 1984. His song “Halley” won the first place in Turkey Eurovision Finals. With his compositions he became immortalized in the heart of people.
