Born in Eskişehir his childhood passed in various cities of Turkey because of the job of his father who was an air force pilot. Thanks to his parents’ passion for music, he got acquianted with music in his early ages listening Turkish rock and pop musicians such as Cem Karaca, Barış Manço, Neşe Karaböcek, and Fikret Kızılok. In his secondary years he met rock music via  Pink Floyd and Cat Stevens. Together with his uncle İlhan Şeşen and his brother Gökhan Şeşen they founded the pop music group Gündoğarken in 1982. After the gorup parted in the 2000’s Burhan Şeşen released two solo albums: “Bir Düş Gördüm” and “Bir İki Üç Tıp”. His album “Bir İki Üç Tıp” was released in 2005 with the label of Ada Music. He carries on his music career with new projects. 

 

Ezgi Aktan
 

Born on 1988, Ezgi Aktan spent her childhood in Yalova, Turkey. She started singing in various choirs and bands that she started with her friends during her primary and secondary school years, however her first real stage experience and professional music career started when she came to Istanbul in 2006. After having started studying at the Department of Economics at Yıldız Technical University, she also started working on ethnic music at the Music Unit of the Folklore Club of Boğaziçi University. While she tried to sing in different languages and forms for four years, she also took music theory courses and focused especially on Greek/Balkan music. Moreover, she focused on improving her voice based on the old Rebetiko gramophone records. During the same years, she supported Gayda Istanbul, Kardeş Türküler (the album titled “Çocuk Haklı”) and Ayşenur Kolivar in their albums as back vocal and she accompanied those artists in their various concerts. Although she had a break in her music career as she started working as a “white collar” in a research company in 2010, she performed some radio commercials. That period is extremely important for Ezgi Aktan as she tried to understand what she really wanted in her life and she tried to settle her relation with music on a more solid and subjective foundation. In the meanwhile, she also started to write her own songs. She started to work on the idea of releasing her own album upon the guidance and encouragement of Jehan Barbur in 2013 with her sincere friendship. Her first album that has been produced as a result of all these efforts consisting of her own songs is titled “İyi ki” to be released in January 2016 with Ada Müzik label.
