Esra Lora was born on 1990 in İstanbul. She graduated from sociology programme of Istanbul University. She started her music studies in 2010 at Evrensel Sanatlar Music School. She took singing and harmony courses from composer Tayfun Gültekin. She continued her music studies with singer Sema Günsoy. She was participated in Nazım Hikmet Academy Choir as a soprano for 2 years. After leaving the choir, she took part in building up İstanbul Kadın Orkestrası that performed folk songs with symphonic arrangements. In 2017, she joined the workshop of Can Bora Genç as regards jazz vocal music. She performed a number of concerts at various places with Istanbul Kadın Orkestrası over the course of 2 years. Leaving the orchestra, she started her own music studies in 2018. Following the period of making her own compositions and lyrics, she took a step to her first solo career with the single “Kime Giderdin”.
