Grup Ekin
Grup Ekin The renowned protest music group was founded by revolutionary students from METU (Middle East Technical University) and Gazi University in 1987 in Ankara. Performing in various cultural corporations in Ankara they founded Ekin Culture Center with artists from other branches. Until 1992 the group released three albums and reached a wide audience with their revolutionary music which was shaped according to a socialist realist viewpoint. They also collaborated with the famous protest music band, Grup Yorum and became one of the pioneers of protest music in Turkey. Their album “Bize Ölüm Yok” (No Death for Us) was released with the label of Ada Music. The group put their signature under many unforgettable songs and jogged the memory of many people in the country. Although the group parted in 1995, its members have carried on their musical production.  ...
