Mübin Dünen

 He was born in 1977 in Silvan Diyarbakır. In the early teens, he began to learn music with ney blowing. He studied "ney" to the Municipal Conservatory of İzmit. as a guest student. After the first experiences since the age of 20 he carried out his musical career in professional form collaborating with well-known bands (Koma Amed, Koma Azad, Karagunes, 

Turkey and Lilith in Berlin) and collaborated with the concert recordings and music albums of famous artists, such as Ciwan Haco, Mehmet Atli, Lilith, Metin and Kemal Kahraman, Servet Koca Kaya, Mehmet Akbas, Gulay, Burhan Berken, Tayfun Talipoglu, Serdar Keskin. He has participated to several festivals in Turkey and abroad and he deepened the knowledge of new, traditional and contemporary instruments. In addition to Ney and his own voice, he regularly uses Santur (cimbalon), Cura (small saz), Tanbur (turkish cello) and percussions. He has developed a personal style both in the composition and execution, a style that is influenced by the his various meetings with European and Asian artists.
He lived both Italy and Turkey and  he worked as a street musican for a long years. 
In Europe, he collaborated on an electronic music project with Von Magnet, (France), he wrote and
performed the music for a play made by Gisella Vacca (Italy), has collaborated with jazz musician Saadet Turkoz (Switzerland) for the realization of the work he presented at 'Aksanat Jazz Festival in Istanbul.
He performed concerts in the USA, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Great Britain,
Norway, Switzerland, France, Germany, Litvania, Romania, Austria and Italy, both solo and in groups. In Italy he has participated in dozens of shows, especially in Venice (for the Biennale), Volterra (theatre exhibitions organized by Teatro Nascosto), Rome (Kurdish Film Festival).
 
In Sardinia, among other various performances there were those in Sassari (Concert on the occasion of Cavalcata Sarda with Koma Azad), Genoni (exhibition Terre Sorelle), Castiadas (Festival Ethnicus) and Cagliari (Festival Sciradindi). He composed the music for various documentaries, films (Topac, Kursun Adres Sormaz, Dut Zamani, Denge Came) and theater (Teatro-arousing Cerb, Seyrimesel Theater-Seva Periyan, Peristan).
 
In 2009 he recorded the album BAHAR (spring) and ARAF (purgatory). Since 2010 he started working, as a
consultant and musical performer, with Coop Theater Sirio Sardinia Theater. Also in 2010 he made up with
the Sardinian pianist Valerio Baraccani (aka Cuya Valo) the musical piece "Cuya Valo Meets Mubin Dunen". Then again, In Sardinia with the band Magic Carpet (theviolinist Angelica Turno, the guitarist Marco Maxia, the percussionist Giancarlo Murranca) and recently with the bass player of the group Nasodoble the accordionist Luigi Lai and Sardinia Jazz OrchestraAlessandro Zolo. In 2016 he has published his last album called Gerok (The Traveler). 
Bahar, Mübin Dünen's first album, published  in 2009, is an instrumental work consisting of the artist's own compositions and arrangements for traditional music. In 2009, Dünen's album Araf, composed of the music he composed and performed for the short film of the same name, was released digitally. The artist's third album Gerok (Gezgin) consists of his own instrumental compositions and traditional Kurdish and Turkish folk songs of Anatolia and Mesopotamia. The album, which was released digitally in 2016, reached the audience in print in 2018. Her collaboration with Nilüfer Perihan Kurtoğlu, Asl-ı Aşk was introduced to the audience by Ada Music in June 2018 as the artist's fourth album and was staged as a fairy-tale concert with a twelve-person cast of six actors and six musicians. Sen Tabipsin Saramazsın Yaramı's maxi single, consisting of four songs, will be published by Ada Music in 2021.
 
Mübin Dünen
