Şirin Soysal

After achildhood passed going among the cities of Vienna, Bern and Ankara, Şirin Soysal began to take singing lessons from Mustafa Yurdakul during her high school years. Then in 1998 she went to Dublin to study drama in Trinity College. Completing her drama education she began her graduate education in cinema and after working in Dublin for a while she returned to Istanbul. She took lessons from precious singing and vocal trainers such as Mustafa Yurdakul, Tamara Nizhnikova and Randy Esen. Beginning her music career as a jazz vocalist Soysal released her first solo album “Bir Şeyler Var” in 2011. The album which was produced by Şevket Akıncı was arranged again by Şevket Akıncı and Cansun Küçüktürk. In bringing the cabaret, jazz and avantgarde styles the album had the characteristic of a first in Turkey. The second solo album of Soysal, “Ziyaret” /The Visit) has met the listeners in October 2014 with the label of Ada Music. Soysal and her band is the first turkish band invited to the “Ertegün Jass Series” which was arranged in April 2013 in Washington D. C.
