Asu Maralman
Born in Istanbul in 1948 her music education began at home with the piano and opera lessons during her childhood. She is the sister of the famous Nonna Bella who won great recognition with her record “Şimdi Sen Varsın Artık” in the 1970’s. Maralman won the first place in Caddebostan Voice Competition in 1961 and found herself in the music world like her elder sister. During high school years she practised on stage in wedding saloons wtih the nickname Silvia Bella, but after marrying she founded an orchestra with her husband Orhan Şevki taking to the stage in renowned hotels and restaurants of the day. In 1975 she got off the ground with her third record “Bal Gibi Olur.” She extended her success with subsequent records such as “Sabah Ola Hayrola” and “Şarkılar Yazdım.” She took her place in the unforgettables of Turkish pop music. Now she is coming together with her listeners with a compiled album under the series “Old 45’s” with the label of Ada Music.
