Bulutsuzluk Özlemi The band was founded in the 1980’s as the first Turkish alternative rock band performing songs in Turkish language. The band was formed as a reaction to the mostly asked but unanswered question “Can there be any Turkish rock apart from Anatolian rock style in Turkey?” and with their satisfactory and badly needed answer “Yes!” they won great recognition in a short time owing to their unique style and rebellious lyrics. They discussed sociological, economical, psychological and mostly political issues of the country in their songs. The band has released twelve albums up to now, given many concerts, taken part in countless festivals and projects. With the founding members Nejat Yavaşoğulları (vocal and the guitar) and Sina Koloğlu (the piano and the keyboard) remaining, Gencay Kıymaz (drum), Sunay Özgür (bass guitar) and Deniz Demiröz’den (solo guitar) joined the band as fresh blood.
