Tolga Çandar
Born in 1959 in Muğla, Milas received his bachelor’s degree from the Construction Engineering department of Middle East Technical University (METU). In his university years he founded the band, Çağdaş Türkü Topluluğu (Modern Folk Song Band) and released their first album “Bekle Beni” (Wait For Me). After another album called “Delikanlı” (Laddie) including the compositions of Tolga Çandar and Eftal Küçük the group broke apart. After that Çandar has carried on the path alone. He has released eight albums up till now: "Türküleri Ege’nin” (The Folk Songs of the Aegean), "Harman" (The Harvest), "Türküden Şarkıya" (From Folk Song to Song), "Sen Türkülerdesin" (You’re in the Songs), "Kar Yangını" (The Fire of Snow), "Türküleri Ege’nin 2" (The Folk Songs of the Aegean II) , "Sular Gibi" (Like Waters), "’Türküleri Ege’nin 3" (The Folk Songs of the Aegean III). He also put signature under the album “Aşikâr” (Manifest) with Seza Kırgız in 2002.
