Burhan Öçal
The globally known Turkish pecsussionist Burhan Öçal was born to a family of musicians in Kırklareli, so got acquainted with music in his very early ages. Continuing his music education in Turkey until the age of twenty four he then went to Switzerland to improve his career further. He still sustains his successful music career between the two countries. Classical Turkish music, Ottoman court music as well as folk music has effects on his own music style. The instruments he plays feature a similar variety. Alongside percussion instruments, he plays the strings of classical Turkish music such as classical lute and the oud. Besides music, he also proved success in acting taking part in various film projects. His album “Karadeniz” (The Black Sea) was released in 1999 with the label of Ada Music.  ...
