Gülcan Altan
Gülcan Altan Born in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Istanbul, Samatya as the daughter of a Circassian family her amateur music life began in the elementary school with the encouragement of her teacher. After high school she completed her college education in Tourism and Hotel Management. Then she entered the Department of Management in Trakya University. When her love of music overweighed, she left the university education to sing in various hotels and clubs. She took voice lessons from Güher Güney. In 2001 she entered State Conservatory of Turkish Music in Istanbul Technical University (ITU). In 2005 she graduated ranking first in her class. She gave voice lessons in Eti Art Centre for a while. Then she got her master’s degree from the Turkish Music Conservatory of Yeditepe University. Her first album “Gülümser” was released in 2008 with the label of Ada Music. At the moment she continues her studies on ethnic and world music.....
