Ahmet Koç
Born in Sivas as the son of a minstrel father, listening the minstrels’ duets Ahmet Koç learned to play the baglama at the age of six and his destiny as a musician was shaped during these years. His father also had a music shop in Bayrampaşa full of every kind of gramaphone records, which had a profound influence on his music career. In the 1980’s he began to work as an arrangor in Unkapanı, the famous music production market of Istanbul, and made the album arrangements of famous singers such as Murat Kekilli and Murat Göğebakan. In his Anatolian rock style and world view he says he was deeply influenced by Edip Akbayram. The arrangement of the last album of “Yedi Karanfil” (Seven Cloves) trinity also bears his signature. After his single album “Yediveren Anadolu” (Everblooming Anatolia) which stands out mainly with its synphonic quality, Koç released the album “Yol Türküleri” (Road Songs) in Anatolian rock st.....
