Erdem Sökmen
He started his first guitar training with Raffi Arslanyan. He studied composition and guitar at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He was educated by Cengiz Tanç, Cemal Reşit Rey, İlhan Usmanbaş and Carlo Domeniconi. He graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, harmony-counterpoint in 1982 and guitar in 1984. In 1986, he founded the classical guitar department at Istanbul University State Conservatory. He received the title of Proficiency in Art at the same institution and continued as an instructor between 1987-2022.
In addition to being an instructor, he was also interested in jazz music, and performed in various concerts with the groups Passiflora, Erdem Sökmen Quartet and the Istanbul Guitar Ensemble, which consists of three guitars and bandoneon.
He started to perform concerts with Hasan Meten as a guitar duo in 2013 and released their album "1" in 2019. Currently, Sökmen continues his concerts, album recordings and productions with the Terra Megica group he founded together with Sabri Tuluğ Tırpan, Volkan Öktem and Eylem Pelit, as a guitar duo with Hasan Meten, and as a guitar & Istanbul kemençe duo with Nağme Yarkın. Having made significant contributions to Turkish popular music, Erdem Sökmen also continues to record solo albums.

Nağme Yarkın

Nağme Yarkın, who was born into a musician family, started music at the age of 3 by taking piano lessons. She graduated from Composition Department at Istanbul University State Conservatory with Master's and Doctorate degrees.
With her traditional instrument, the kemenche from Istanbul, she not only introduces traditional Turkish music to the world, but also makes innovations in the field of jazz fusion by playing her own compositions and arrangements in her concerts and albums, with the Yarkın Duo and Quartet groups she established with her brother, pianist Baturay Yarkın. By combining these two music genres, they have performed at various festivals, concerts and gave workshops in many countries from Europe to America. Since 2017, they have been giving concerts within Silkroad GMW, founded by Yo-Yo Ma. In 2018, they gave two workshops at Berklee College of Music.
Yarkın, had concerts with Andre Rieu as part of his world tour in 2013 and 2014.
In 2022, she released the polyphonic Istanbul kemençe album “Künh” consisting of her own compositions, as the first in the world.
Together with master guitarist Erdem Sökmen, they had concerts and in 2023 their abum “Duende” will be released by Ada music.
In the 2022-2023 season, she continues her studies at the University of Alberta in Canada as an invited instructor for a year. She also has been working as an Assoc. Prof at Istanbul University State Conservatory since 2012.

Hasan Meten 
Hasan Meten was born in İstanbul in 1983. He started his music career at the age of 13 with classical guitar training. In 2005, he received his bachelor's degree in Music and Performing Arts from Yıldız Technical University. In 2013, M.S.G.S.U began his graduate education at the Department of Classical Guitar. In 2010, he had the opportunity to work with Lorenzo Micheli, Lucio Matarazzo and Michael Lewin at the 18th Koblenz International Guitar Festival. Since 2004, many guitar festival and performed at the concert held in Turkey. In 2012, the Turkish Composers and Performers album named ‘Gitarla Buluşma/Meeting with Guitar’ has performed Koray Sazlı’s works and this album was recorded live in Bilkent Concert Hall. Since 2014, the Guitar duo of Erdem Sökmen & Hasan Meten Gitar, performed in many big festivals and concerts, formed their first albums by recording their repertoire consisting mostly of Latin American music in 2019. Hasan Meten, who has taken part in the album and stage works of various artists, has concentrated on jazz music in recent years. In 2019, Meten started working on his first album Night Shift.
