Vova was created by the worries of Hikmet Akçiçek witnessing that his mother tongue, Hamshetsnak, was dissappearing day by day. He recorded anonymous Hamshetsnak melodies and took great effort to make it into an album. Vova means, ''What is” in Hamshetsnak?, and the album , which was released in November 2005 by Ada Music, is being the very first album that was sang in Hamshetsnak in the world.

Vova expressed its homeland, its philosophy of existence and happiness by the submission of Garmi Doç;

Some are a mountain, a sea, a stream, some highland, a melody, a sound of the destiny of people… The mountain of Kaçkar, the rock of Verçenik, Karanlıkmeşe, İnce Xarxan and Bilbilan Plateaus, are both the destiny and the cure for everything, just like panacea…
Perhaps a village house, a cold stream, a mountain filled with thousand of flowers or perhaps a witty saying, something that is troubling will make you link to life,it won't let you go, you won't lose your way.
It's like wherever we go, what we talk, what we lived in those bizarre places with those rare people, the things we cried and laugh about, it's always, our destiny, our luck that makes us who we are,what gives color to us. We loved with their heart, we saw the world in their eyes, and vocalized the Hemshin melodies in their voices.

Vova is a project work which aims to compile The Hemshin melodies, record them and help them reach to the future. The performances that Vova took place in are 2008 Erivan, 2012 Moscow and Sochi concerts, 2004 Hopa Festival, 2017 Guitar Cafe, 2008 Marakeş Beyoğlu, 2010 Diyarbakır Festival, 2013 Hadig The Mekan, 2015 Hadig Kadıköy Sahne, 2018 Cemiyet Beyoğlu.

Vova, still continues to sing the Hemşin melodies into our souls with Garmi Doç album which includes melodies from various areas in Hemşin geography.
